What We Do
The Cancer Quality Council of Ontario monitors and reports publicly on cancer system performance in Ontario. We use international expertise and advice to make recommendations for targeted quality improvement.
Our Work
We conduct our work through the delivery of 4 activities:
- Cancer System Quality Index (CSQI) – Measures cancer system performance across Ontario
- Quality and Innovation Awards – Recognize and promote front line quality improvement and innovation
- Signature Events – Address system-wide gaps and identify opportunities for tangible action to improve the quality of health services delivery
- Programmatic Reviews – Review program progress, analyse effectiveness and make recommendations for future strategic direction
Through these initiatives, our goal is to improve cancer services in Ontario by:
- reducing the incidence of cancer
- improving cancer treatment and survival
- improving cancer patient satisfaction
- evolving and developing new quality indicators
